Broadcast Content Development - The masterclass
This development workshop will give learners a broader idea of what goes in to creating a development project, getting it off the ground, and how to present this to a channel/client. On the day learners will come up with their own idea in response to a channel brief.
Open to all, this masterclass would suit anyone from entry level to more experienced. Whether you are a researcher, writer, ideas person and everything in between you will find this training day informative and inspiring.
Over the course of the workshop, we’ll look at:
• The Development Process: using an example of a broadcast development project, we will demonstrate how an idea is brought to life from it’s initial concept, casting, access, treatment, taster tape, through to the pitch.
• Research: knowing your audience, understanding what a channel is looking for, has the show been done before in a different way - what is your USP?
• Idea generation: techniques and games used to generate ideas. Each group is given a different channel brief and will be asked generate an idea in response to the brief - using the knowledge & techniques previously covered.
• Treatment writing: elevator pitch, what to include - adjusting it’s tone, language and design depending on where its going.
• Pitching & Presenting: how to present an idea, taster tapes, relationships with commissioners., do's and don’ts.
*You will also receive learning materials, handouts and activities which will help you with your learning*
