The Last Hours of Laura K
Co-Created, Co-Written and Co-produced by award-winning writers Rachel Delahay, Gabriel Bisset-Smith, Ed Sellek and Kenny Emson ‘The Last Hours of Laura K’ is a multi-platform digital murder mystery exploring the role of surveillance and social media and the impact it has one our lives.
Given access to the last 24hrs of Laura’s life in real time, via every camera that captured her, all her social media accounts (with histories spanning back 6 months), her text messages and emails, viewers are asked to try and solve her murder.
Laura Kitchen has now been played by tens of thousands of people worldwide with only two people correctly solving her murder. It was shortlisted for the Prix Italia Festival ‘Best Digital Storytelling’ award and is currently nominated for two Lovie Awards.
It’s cult fan base have started to organise 24 hour watching parties in an effort to solve the murder ‘live’, and the twitter user base has created a HUGE google doc exploring the various suspects and motives behind her death. The show was developed by the BBC Writersroom at a think tank on digital storytelling at Bore Place in 2012.
