Call for submissions! Young Harts Writing Festival: Original Writing Festival

The Young Harts Writing Festival is an exciting opportunity that will see five young writers (aged 10 - 25) go head to head with five professional writers in a two- night festival on the 8-9th April 2016 at the Lyric Hammersmith.

Over two nights, all ten plays will be performed in the Lyric’s refurbished and beautiful Studio!

Young writers, aged 18 – 25, are invited to send in 10-minute plays on the theme of ‘Power’.

‘Power’ can be interpreted in a myriad of ways, so the final pieces promise to be a varied portrait on what ‘power’ represents to different people at different stages of life.

The exciting line up of writers they will go head to head will include: Arinze Kene, Isley Lynn, critically acclaimed playwrights Luke Barnes, Phoebe Eclair- Powell and Somalia Seaton.

The young writers will ALSO have the opportunity to be mentored by these scribes.

Five winning young writers will be announced on the 26th February and then receive a FREE writing masterclass with Rikki Beadle Blair.

All ten plays will be directed by Roy Alexander Weise, and produced by Ann Akin, so there is a wealth of knowledge and experience that the young writers can draw from.

Submissions open 18th January 2016 – 19th February 2016

All young writers must be available on the 12th March 2016.

Submissions now open! info@hartstheatrecompany.co.uk
