More

Natasha Harrison is a freelance Movement Director, Choreographer and Lecturer currently based in London and Leeds. After studying at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Natasha went on to complete her Masters in Movement: Directing and Teaching, graduating from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Since then Natasha has been working as a freelance Movement Director and visiting Lecturer to the University of Northampton, Royal College of Music and other HE establishments.

Natasha's work as a Movement Director focusses on the context, vision and nature of the theatrical piece in question, supporting the production by translating the world of the piece through the art of movement. Working closely with directors to achieve movement with a visceral and organic edge, Natasha's role in theatre would be to work in conjunction with the actors to develop the physicality of their characters in space, refine the movement moments of the show and explore at the overall movement language of the piece. As an artist Natasha is continually inspired by physical theatre companies such as Gecko, Frantic Assembly and DV8 for their physical storytelling, encouraging boldness in Natasha's movement choices and enabling her to explore the communicative power of the body. As well as being a Movement Director, Natasha has keen eye for devising, developing and refining new movement and this helps shape her vision when taking on the role of Choreographer.
