More

Combining my movement expertise with years of experience as a performer, Movement Direction offers the perfect vehicle for my creative input. I understand deeply how to work with physicality in order to tell stories in honest, surprising and beautiful ways. Allowing performers to connect with their breathing, feeling bodies allows us to find new and authentic narratives; the life of the play/piece becomes both more dimensional and more creative.

Movement Direction / Choreography

Current project : Swarm, Target Theatre Company, CAST Doncaster

Current project : Songs and Dances of Death, Curious Invitation, Brompton Cemetery

2016 A Midsummer Night's Dream, Simon Evans, Southwark Playhouse

2016 Maria De Buenos Aires, A Curious Invitation, Waterloo Vaults,

2016 Romeo & Juliet, ALRA, London

2016 Purposeless Movements, Birds of Paradise, Tramway Glasgow

2105 Hurricane Boy, Ellen Havard, National Tour

 Awards and Press

Purposeless Movements : Nominated for two CATS Awards :  Best Ensemble & Best Direction

Rachel Drazek’s robust, punky choreography mocks the tropes of group machismo: there’s arm wrestling, racing, and male model posturing, there’s flirting with the BSL interpreter…  The Stage

Tremendously choreographed. The Sunday Herald

Birds of Paradise Theatre Company have created an enlightening production which explores movement with a whole new concept. The Review Hub

IF EVERYONE had the opportunity to see Purposeless Movements, attitudes towards disability would change overnight. The Scotsman

This is one brilliantly shrewd triumph of a show…honest even unflinchingly graphic, wickedly funny and memorably impressive at every level . The Herald

Press coverage of community work :

Rachel weaves a sort of magic in the room through improvisation and simple aids. Through gentle encouragement and with the help of the carers, Drazek brings a palpable sense of joy to the room. The Guardian
