More

I am a theatre director, dramaturg and script reader working freelance in London. I am the winner of the JMK Award 2017, directing My Name is Rachel Corrie at the Young Vic.

For five years I ran Fat Git Theatre, directing work around London and across the UK, including... Magnificence (Finborough Theatre), Uninvited, (Bedlam Theatre, New Diorama) Specie (Underbelly, New Diorama) Winky (Soho Theatre, Underbelly) A Pit of Clay (Shakespeare in Shoreditch) (i feel fine) (Vaults Festival, New Diorama) A Third (Finborough Theatre). Fat Git also ran a residency for a year at the University of Warwick where I was the lead practitioner. We explored democratic creative processes, all tailored towards making work with an environmental conscience. It was called GAIA: New Approaches. Freelance: My Name is Rachel Corrie (Young Vic) Plastic for Poleroid Theatre, and The Cafe, at the Old Red Lion.

I have worked with the RSC, directing the World Shakespeare Congress in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, and in collaboration with the Southbank Sinfonia on Shakespeare in Music. I've also directed one off events for Shakespeare's Globe; Burns Night in the Swan Bar.

I've worked extensively as an Assistant Director, for Shakespeare's Globe  (Farinelli and the King, Doctor Scroggy's War, Eternal Love, Taming of the Shrew), and with the Royal Shakespeare Company, with Maria Aberg and Polly Findlay on Dr Faustus and The Alchemist, and in 2015 with Greg Doran on Death of a Salesman. I also directed extracts of Midsummer Night's Dream for Lloyds Bank at the Banking Hall, with Jonjo O Neill, Thomasin Rand, Vivien Parry and others in the cast.

I was literary associate at Soho Theatre for two years where I worked with new writers and young artists, as well as assisting (Blink, Utopia, The Boy Who Fell into the Book). I learnt my craft there and still have strong links with the theatre. I was the associate director on Blink and took it on UK and International Tour.
