More

I was born and raised in Athens, Greece and moved to London in August 2013 to study English Literature at UCL. Over the past eight years I have been actively involved in theatre companies by directing, writing, acting, and producing plays.

In 2014 I was chosen to direct Euripides’ Bacchae for UCL’s annual Classics Play, which was selected by the National Student Drama Festival 2015, followed by a tour in Greece, as well as an invitation to give two special performances at the British Museum.

In April 2015 I founded a theatre collective under the name Collide, bringing together a group of emerging artists, ranging from set designers to filmmakers! I am very passionate about producing edgy new work with people who share the same need for bold theatre.

I have just finished directing Tejas Verdes - a spanish play by Fermìn Cabal - which tells the story of the 3000 disappeared people during Pinochet's regime in Chile. For this brilliant piece of collective memory we created a site-specific promenade performance at Tanner Street's Warehouse in April 2017 with Collide Theatre, and consequently after an invitation we transferred a new version of the play at The Women And War Festival in Streatham Hill's abandonned theatre in July.

I believe that directing is discovering, and that making theatre is about discovering the nature of the imprint a text or a productions has on us.
What I see in a play is primarily a freedom to explore, a chance to understand and evolve as human beings.

I am currently training on the MFA Theatre Directing course at Birkbeck, University of London during which I also got actor's training at Drama Centre. For 2017-2018 I will be the Resident Assistant Director at HOME in Manchester!

In the meantime, I am always open to new ideas, suggestions and collaborations. Do get in touch!
