More

I currently work as the the Creative Director in a long-standing luxury advertising company based in the South West.

My position involves two main tasks: working with businesses and clients to create advertising and marketing strategies (b2b & b2c), and leading a team of designers, marketers and engineers to develop the creative work for a product in preparation of a launch or re-branding.  I am also responsible for developing, instigating and launching new marketing strategies based on data analysis and creating reports against agreed/existing KPIs.  Identifying and developing strong relationships with the media and other key influencers as well as developing annual marketing strategies are also key parts of my role. All data and research conducted (with particular emphasis on budgeting, relationship management and PR) is then processed and turned into a quarterly report, which is passed directly to the managing director.

The more creative aspects of my current role finds me frequently organising or attending press/corporate events in order to enhance the reputation of the company - sourcing new leads and ensuring client / financier’s continued support. The ability to multi-task, delegate, organise workloads, prioritise and negotiate in this role are essential. The ability to develop and deliver brand building and content planning is essential. The ability to develop, coordinate and monitor media campaigns, as well as engage with various communities (both online and face-to-face) is essential. The ability to communicate and present to a wide audience is essential. The need to be dynamic, motivated, and entrepreneurial minded with an internal drive to continuously hit goals and deadlines is essential.

I have previously worked as a broadcasting journalist for the BBC and video journalist for ITV Wales. These roles involved generating ideas for future programmes and developing ways to market and advertise future broadcasts and events.  As well as conducting meetings and pitching news and current affairs items, I was also directly involved in final edits and broadcasts. My role required excellent organisational, communication and people skills as well as a comprehensive understanding of company protocol. I was required to write bulletins, prepare pieces for broadcast and to interview people, usually to a very tight and demanding schedule.

It was here I developed my career skills, planning, researching as well as recording, blogging, editing and broadcasting, and maintenance of multiple social media sites and websites. Developing ideas, securing participants - and building relationships (case-studies and experts alike), searching through archives and researching original stories became second nature. Having a firm grasp of the English language was essential, as well as being able to communicate and liaise with members of the public, colleagues, and internal/external media and press-departments. I widened my understanding of broadcasting and established myself as a capable video editor and cameraman, with particular skill using Final Cut Pro, AVID and After Effects and other media and info-graphic software. Since then I have achieved an Adobe certified qualification (the ACA) an industry recognised qualification. I am also well versed in everyday packages and PC packages such as Office.
