Profile

More

I am a keen and passionate freelance actor, writer and director who has worked in a variety of areas within the creative industries such as production, marketing and research.

Having recently graduated from the University of Warwick with a BA (Hons) in English Literature, I am ambitious in following my dream of becoming a professional performer, theatre and film maker. I am going to be applying for acting courses at drama schools to begin in the autumn of 2016, whilst working in a graduate job as a Drama Assistant at a secondary school in Bath over the academic year of 2015/2016.

I have exstensive experience as an actor, having performed in a variety of roles from Portia in Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice to Elizabeth Proctor in Arthur Miller's The Crucible. I have also had the opportunity to play numerous male roles throughout my acting career, which has broadened my range and enhanced my skills as a chameleonic performer; such male roles include Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls, Sicinius in Shakespeare's Coriolanus, and Jack Merridew in Lord of the Flies. Such experience has enabled me to easily multirole in performance as well, with examples including playing Hermione and the Clown in Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale. I have also been a part of devised and ensemble theatre productions, which have enhanced my skills as a theatremaker as well as a performer; in June 2015 I performed in a devised theatre production called This Blasted Heath, which took inspiration from the works and styles of William Shakespeare, Cormac McCarthy and Samuel Beckett to create a single, dynamic performance piece.

My passions also lie in writing and directing, and I have had the privilege of having written and directed a number of short films over the years. Most recently, I adapted Robert Louis Stevenson's The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde for the stage, and was performed by Second Face Theatre Company in November 2015 at the Rondo Theatre in Bath.

I am an enthusiastic, diligent and creative member of any production team, and my existing experience within the creative industries has allowed me to become flexible in my skills and abilities within the industry.
