More

I started my career in development, as Script Executive at Zenith Productions, where I worked across a slate of film and TV drama and script edited series such as HAMISH MACBETH (BBC), BODYGUARDS (ITV), and FIRM FRIENDS II (ITV). For Ecosse/BBC, I co-created the series McCREADY & DAUGHTER (starring Lorcan Cranitch & Patsy Palmer) and became a contract writer on EASTENDERS, where I worked on storylines including the domestic abuse of Little Mo Morgan and her trial for attempted murder. I subsequently wrote for CASUALTY, HEARTBEAT, and THE BILL.

In 2013, I was selected for the Royal Court Theatre's first Over 26s Writers' Group; my play, EXHUMATION, was workshopped there in 2015, with associate director Lucy Morrison and cast including Anna Calder-Marshall.

I developed the core ideas of this into a new work, THE THINGS WE NEVER SAID, which received a sell-out rehearsed reading at JW3 London in October 2016, with cast Gay Soper and Rachel Fielding, director Sarah Berger.  A radio version goes out on BBC Radio 4 Afternoon Drama on 11 May 2017, starring Lia Williams and Siân Phillips, directed by Abigail le Fleming.

My spec feature, ALTER EGO, won an invitation from French screenwriters' association, Maison des Scénaristes, to attend their International Screenwriters' Pavilion at Cannes 2015.  I was also selected for Filmonomics 2016, a Bird's Eye View/BFI/Creative Skillset feature film development/mentoring scheme.

Based on my long-term experiences with my mother (now in residential care), I blog about dementia - '(Dementia Just Ain't) Sexy' - and write and speak widely on this issue (outlets including BBC Woman's Hour, Victoria Derbyshire, The Guardian, and BBC Wales, for whom I have recently participated in a documentary, 'Beti and David: Lost for Words').
