Profile

More

I am an emerging theatre director and Applied Theatre facilitator, based in Manchester, with strong links to Oxford and London. My focus is devising and directing powerful, imaginative, contemporary theatre, and fusing it with community conflict transformation, for positive social change.

My directing credits include Come Closer: Memories of Partition (Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester, 2017), and sell-out shows Joy Unspeakable (REVEAL Season, Octagon Theatre, Bolton, 2016) a site-specific, work-in-progress piece about bulimia and Faraway, So Close, (Old Fire Station Theatre, Oxford, 2014), a devised piece exploring the legacy of Britain's actions in Israel and Palestine. I trained in acting and directing with Point Zero Physical Theatre, Oxford (2011-14), as well as shorter intensives with Cardboard Citizens, East 15 and Mountview.

Before moving into theatre in 2011, I had a successful, ten-year career in the charity sector including community radio, charity communications and marketing, mediation, peace education and nonviolent peace campaigns. I also love travel and have lived and worked in India, Australia, the Caribbean, Africa and the Middle-East.
