About

If you have a burning desire to work in film and TV production accounting, are a UK resident, and have previous experience of working in accounts or finance, you should consider applying for this scheme.

Our Assistant Production Accounting Training Scheme is funded by Creative Skillset and as a result we can pay you a tax free training allowance of £300 per week plus a monthly travel allowance for 10 months whilst you train and work on film and TV drama production placements.

Kevin Trehy, Chairman of the Production Guild and Senior Vice President Physical Production of Warner Bros Productions says, "The Production Guild’s training scheme provides practical training for people wanting to work on film and television productions. Last year our trainees worked on a range of major film and television productions including Downton Abbey, Muppets Most Wanted, Jupiter Ascending, In the Heart of the Sea, Edge of Tomorrow, Cinderella, Whitechapel, Misfits, Mr Selfridge, Red 2 and The Tunnel.”

"Before the APATS course I was the Assistant Revenue Accountant for a leading holiday park company. I'd always been a lover of film and TV so thought this could be the perfect mix for my accounting career. During the course my production placements were RED2, The Tunnel and Cinderella. I love the fact that you see an end product for your efforts as opposed to the cyclical world of accounts you get in most other industries. Yes it's busy and yes the hours are long, but I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions of my life" Ruby Avards, Assistant Production Accountant

For over 10 years we have trained people from differing backgrounds, work experience and qualifications who have gone on to consistently and successfully work on film and high end TV productions.

Commended by the Department for Education & Skills and the Creative Skillset Film Skills Strategy as a best-practice training scheme, the Assistant Production Accountant Training Scheme has trained 42 new entrants to enter UK feature film production.

If you are interested in applying to this scheme please do email us at pg@productionguild.com  and we can add you to our mailing list.

This course is supported by Creative Skillset’s Film Skills Fund, which is funded by the National Lottery via the BFI, and through the Skills Investment Fund (SIF).
